Its official, and Dereck Chisora will fight the unbeaten lad from Ukraine, Oleksandr Usyk in a heavyweight bout at the O2 arena in London on May 23.
The fight was initially slated for March 23 but was postponed after Usyk suffered an injury during training.
The 36 year old Chisora last fought in October when he bashed David Price getting a fourth round victory.
On the other hand, his competitor Usyk is an undisputed cruiserweight champion who joined the heavyweight division last year, winning his debut against Chazz Witherspoon in the seventh round which makes his career record 17 and O.
It was Usyk’s first fight since he defended all four world cruiserweight titles against Britain’s Tony Bellew in November 2018.
Chisora also has a much decorated career record winning 32 bouts out of his 41 overall.
Anthony Joshua might be watching the fight very closely as Usyk is a mandatory challenger for Joshua’s WBO title. And with a win behind him Usyk might become Joshua’s nightmare in upcoming days.
